Three Things for Thursday

Date
Oct, 25, 2018
  • Enjoy the short film “Towering Above the Rest” from Great Big Story and witness a fascinating Catalan tradition of human-tower building that dates back more than 200 years.
  • Breathe deeply:

    Peace is always beautiful . . .
—Walt Whitman, “Sleepers,”  Leaves of Grass

  • Elisa Gabbert’s article “Recently Returned Books” for The New York Times Magazine invites us to consider perusing the library’s returned books shelf when selecting our next read. “So much of what we encounter each day is designed to influence our decisions and purchases, but the books on this shelf have no agenda.”

Oh my goodness; the human towers! I loved it, but found myself gasping when I saw the tower starting to fall. Amazing!

It was really something to watch the children climb up the towers like spiders. I loved seeing the thrill and determination on their faces!
